UPDATE!

Hi there - just a quick update... Got back to work yesterday, immediate meeting in the morning for safety talk, etc. and a fair warning that there may be other meetings throughout the day. Sure enough, 15 minutes later, called into another meeting to which we were told the line would start up at 7:30am for 1/2 hour and then at 8:15am an "announcement" would be broadcast across the televisions in the plant. So, we all gathered around the various tv's in the plant to learn that Yes, GM was filing for bankruptcy and unfortunately our plant, Orion Assembly is slated to standby notice effective September 2009 or sooner depending on the economy until further notice. We will be taken into consideration for a future subcompact car possibly in the future... BOOM, there it is... what to think? devastation is one thing that comes to mind.

So, I will write quickly and briefly because after a restless nights sleep and a need to exercise before getting to bed...

Prayer requests: #1 I will be homeschooling my kids this schoolyear until we figure out what is
going on. This will be an exciting venture, I'm sure

Just pray that any decisions to be made are God's will and I know we will be well taken care of no matter what! We have some major life decisions going on here (I am not going to go into any details due to ideas changing constantly right now) and hope to go back to school or something to maybe acquire a new career or something! God is good - all the time and we are nervous, stressed and excited to see what God has in store. We go into a hiring pool as well - national and area hire so we could also end up someplace totally different although we don't see that happening in the near or distant future due to all of the people who are laid off right now.
