Boy, I tell ya, this is the time to be laid off if it has to be....:) We have been having a blast! Dad left the hospital Friday, the 19th and headed home. He's doing good - a little tired, but healing and thankful! We have the trampoline, swingset and grey tarp barn all out at the property now. The chickens enjoyed their time there and we had them butchered this past Monday and now they are in the freezer - all turned out around 4.5 pounds or so. I brought the crock pot camping with us and we are having one for dinner in a few minutes:) During the rainy week we had, Jeremy did repairs/overhauling to the baler, cutter and tractor and all was ready to go, just had to wait on the weather and we finally got the hay cut Sunday and were leaving to go camping on Monday! We got up here Monday night 9pm and it started to rain:( It was cold, too! But, we settled in, watched a movie and woke up to chilly weather but no rain and did a lot of walking and biking with the kids - they love the park here! Yesterday morning, we had to head back to Millington and baled hay all day - 400 bales and it looks good and is all sold! Jeremy and Brooke worked hard loading the wagons while I drove the tractor/baler. It was fun and we got back up to Mackinaw City around 2:30am! Slept in this morning - no jog by the beach for me early today:) and then had breakfast and went for a bike ride (we remembered to bring the bike trailer back with us for the girls:)) and park time, then had lunch and went swimming in the heated pool! We are waiting for chicken dinner and then who knows:) My dad and Teresa are coming up tomorrow night and staying in a little cabin for 1 night. They were going to camp with us for 3 nights this week, but can't so soon after Dad's heart attack. We have extended our stay to Tuesday morning cuz we had to go home yesterday. We would like to go to the Fort, the Island and Mill Creek while we are up here. The kids are having so much fun walking the dog, riding bikes, etc. Erin and Isaac are riding bikes better and better - something we don't do often at home (no sidewalks). Lyndsay likes to walk walk walk! Thunder is being good - he's getting so much exercise he is too tired to misbehave! We even brought our cat with us - she got bit by something and it got infected and she has to have antibiotics every 3 hours so she's enjoying vacation with us and is being good at staying in the camper even! Yes, we are crazy! Brooke got her first blisters on her hands/fingers from doing hay and Erin scraped up her knee today in the gravel rushing around. That's all the troubles so far! So, here are a few pictures and I'll check back in sooner than last time - promise!
Oh, good news - Orion got the production for the Chevy Spark! They only need 1080 production people for the car so I am not sure if Jeremy and I will make the cut or not... We'll know more when we go back to work on the 20th of July, I'm sure!

Wow - time is flying by!
We are now on a five week layoff, going back to work July 20th. We have been told that the plant will be open now until November (instead of September), which is also a good thing! We are still throwing around lots of ideas for our future and plans which are exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. Our plant is in consideration for the new Chevy Spark car they are going to build, but they only need 1200 people to assemble it, working 2 shifts. We currently have 2600 people in our plant building the Chevy malibu and Pontiac G6's. So, even if they did reopen the plant in the future, I don't know if either one of us would get called back. But, God is good and will provide and take care of us - we just want to be in His will. Just keep praying for us and our decision making journey. Jeremy and I have been moving things that we told the realtor we weren't leaving with the house (The playscape swingset, the woodstove, a huge tile that we'll use for a septic tank out at the property for the camper, fence posts, and next will be the outdoor wood furnace). That has been very hard work - but, it's progress and it's easier to do it when we are laid off:) We lay in bed in the morning and say, I'm so soooore:)
Yesterday, we received a phone call (while at my sisters - on her machine) from our Dad (John Bohn) that he was at a local number, please call him back. Luckily, he had called our house and talked to Amber and told her he was in the hospital - something to do with his heart. So, we went up to the hospital at 8pm and visited with him. He had hurt his shoulder in Florida back in Feb. and has a torn tendon and a completely torn tendon and was going to have surgery in July for that. Yesterday, he had an appt. with his doctor here in Saginaw to clear him for the surgery. Yesterday morning, he felt ill when he woke up around 5am and thought it might be food poisoning. His chest hurt, arms hurt, he was sweating and neausious, etc. He didn't cancel his appt. and made it there at 2:30pm (Thank God). His doctor did an EKG and told him he had major problems, called a heart doctor and sent him to the hospital to meet with him and be admitted. Doctor there did an Echo and said there were major problems - the left side wasn't getting any blood to it. So, scheduled a heart catherization for this morning. We left last night, got a bite to eat and around 10:30pm on the way home, dad called my cell and told me they were taking him into surgery right then because his blood work had come back with high bad enzymes, signalling another possible heart attack (yes, they determined that he had had a heart attack that morning). Dad's wife had just made it back home (1 1/2 hrs away), so I told him Heather and I would go right back after dropping everyone else off at home. Heather and I got back up there at 11:30pm and the doctor finally came in at 12:45am to say all had went well - dad was very lucky (we know better, GOD IS GOOD) - his main artery had been blocked 100% in 2 places near the top and in the middle. He was able to put in 3 stents and the flow was working good - the muscle was looking better, etc. He showed us before and after pictures - amazing! Dad was awake during the procedure and said he felt instant relief after the artery was unclogged! So, we are very thankful that God was watching over him and he had that doctor appointment yesterday! If he had cancelled, it could've been worse. He will be in the hospital til Friday probably so please pray for a good recovery and that he would take it a little easy for awhile (no painting, working outside too much, cutting wood, etc.) - which if you know my dad, is very hard for him to do (I inherited that from him, I think:).
Everyone is healthy - Amber has been working 3rd shift sitting with a dear lady who came down with a condition that left her paralyzed from the neck down and is currently on a ventilator. Her husband was looking for someone to sit there third shift so he could sleep better and if anything happens, alarms go off, etc. all Amber has to do is go and get him. She helps him with some things when she first gets there and he may teach her to do a few other things so he can sleep a little more. They are sweet people and we are praying that she will continue to improve and this condition will reverse itself and she will be off the vent soon! She has come a long way already! So, this was an answer to prayer for Amber so she could pay for tuition, etc.! We are very thankful!
Brooke and Curt are at camp this week - having a great time I hope! They will be home Friday night. I miss them and have a hard time keeping track of everyone when we go out - counting and trying to figure out why they are missing then remembering they are at camp! Pray that their hearts get spoken to while there and for a safe trip home!
Erin is always outside helping mom and dad (Lyndsay, too - getting in the way). Isaac has been playing video games on the big computer since Curt is gone. But, the minute we go to the property, they are all about finding bugs and caterpillers, etc. We took the trampoline outthere Friday night and they are enjoying that like it's brand new! Lyndsay can't wait til the swingset is put back together again - she loves to swing with Erin! So, when the rain ceases and the tractor and baler is fixed so that it's ready to bale hay when we get 3 sunny days forecast in the future, we will work on putting it back together out at the property!
We have Dad and Teresa's little yorkie with us while he's in the hospital and told Teresa to stay here cuz we'll be at the property anyway but the kids are having a blast with the dog - tiring him out! I will post some pictures ASAP - I left my camera at the camper so I promise the next time I'm home, I will post. I have been going jogging/fast walking in the morning at the property with the dog and have seen deer, turkey, etc. - it's been great! Any other walks I take, we rarely see anything cuz the kids are with us! I get up before everyone else and go out - it's nice time to myself and the exercise is good for me, too. I am down 20 pounds now and loving it! I feel so much better!

UPDATE!
Hi there - just a quick update... Got back to work yesterday, immediate meeting in the morning for safety talk, etc. and a fair warning that there may be other meetings throughout the day. Sure enough, 15 minutes later, called into another meeting to which we were told the line would start up at 7:30am for 1/2 hour and then at 8:15am an "announcement" would be broadcast across the televisions in the plant. So, we all gathered around the various tv's in the plant to learn that Yes, GM was filing for bankruptcy and unfortunately our plant, Orion Assembly is slated to standby notice effective September 2009 or sooner depending on the economy until further notice. We will be taken into consideration for a future subcompact car possibly in the future... BOOM, there it is... what to think? devastation is one thing that comes to mind.
So, I will write quickly and briefly because after a restless nights sleep and a need to exercise before getting to bed...
Prayer requests: #1 I will be homeschooling my kids this schoolyear until we figure out what is
going on. This will be an exciting venture, I'm sure
Just pray that any decisions to be made are God's will and I know we will be well taken care of no matter what! We have some major life decisions going on here (I am not going to go into any details due to ideas changing constantly right now) and hope to go back to school or something to maybe acquire a new career or something! God is good - all the time and we are nervous, stressed and excited to see what God has in store. We go into a hiring pool as well - national and area hire so we could also end up someplace totally different although we don't see that happening in the near or distant future due to all of the people who are laid off right now.

back to reality...
Monday is coming fast and furious! We have had a great week! Spent the weekend out at the farm, picking rocks, planting the garden, getting sunburned... Friday night, Jeremy and I left at around 4:30pm to go and pick up Amber from college for the summer. We had dinner out (don't get out alone too often so that was fun!), and headed to Indiana with the back seat taken out to make room for Amber's stuff. Brooke had the pleasure of staying home with the kids (and a few extra because she and Curt both had a friend over for the night). We got to the college at around 10:30pm and Amber was ready to go. We took about a half an hour to pack up her stuff, say her good-byes and were on the road again by 11:30pm after stopping to get her a bite to eat at McDonald's (and dessert for us). Got home about 3:30am and went straight to bed! I was awakened at around 9am by Lyndsay who thankfully slept in! It was a rough morning getting going, we kind of laid around then finally got out to the farm at 6pm or so. We started picking rocks, playing, etc. Saturday, the boys and I were picking rocks out of the garden so we could plant and I told Curt and Jeremy - all I ask is that you don't hit me with a rock... Dumb thing to say cuz not more than 5 minutes later, whack - Curt was throwing a rock into the bucket of the backhoe just as I was stepping and bending to pick one up. Right in the side of the face! I literally felt my brain shift and went down... I put my head between my legs for a few minutes until the pain subsided. It hit me in the side of the face, right between my jaws, luckily or I think it would've broken... So, I had a headache for a few days and motrin helped and a nice ugly bruise as well! So, I've been telling everyone he really rocked my world and Jeremy tells everyone he tried to stone me:) We also picked rocks out of the middle field again - up and down, very good exercise and helped me to lose 3 more pounds and get to my next goal in weight:) YAY! Also got sunburned,though:( Note to self, put on sunscreen and wear something my legs can get some color in next time!
Sunday was church and getting the garden planted and watered. Isaac was in the program for the kindergarten graduation even though he's in first grade, his class sang a song and it was cute! He went up with the other kids and they just kind of squeezed him out to where he didn't have a spot and he tried to get them to move, but had to go down and have brother Adam help him out! Poor guy! Back to the property that night after food at Wendy's on the way. Monday we got up and picked the rest of the rocks from the middle field then went up to the camper to get ready for company. We had a BBQ for Memorial Day with family and friends. It was lots of fun! Kids played, tired them out great! Everyone slept well that night! The kids and I got home around 9:30PM and Jeremy stayed the night to be there when our neighbor planted corn the next day to see if he could help. He picked rocks out of the back field all that morning while I got the kids to school and then headed out there to help. Amber hung out with me most of the weekend and we had fun... She got to drive the backhoe for us as we pitched rocks in. The corn got planted and we felt like something was accomplished - finally! Very thankful for the recent rain - Wednesday we stayed home and cleaned, got caught up on laundry, etc. School graduation and awards night at church. Amber's boyfriend graduated this year and Isaac got an award for all A's in school! Good job, Isaac! Amber went out to dinner afterwards with the Valdez's.
Today, Jeremy and I left at 7:30am to go to the union hall at work to listen to the informational meeting about our new contract and to vote. We got home at 12:15pm from that and then I took Brooke to the orthodontist for the bad news (financial part:() and she got her spacers in and goes back next thursday to have braces put on. I had a few appointments there for her last week as well. She also has an impacted tooth that she will have to have surgery for and a deep bite so they have to do a few extras to correct the problems. Wow it better be a beautiful mouth for $6,670.00! Thank goodness my insurance pays $2,200.00 worth! (Hopefully, if I still have a job:) I can't wait to see the results!
Right now we are vegging, the kids are at there dad's for a few hours, Isaac is playing a game, and the girls - well, I better go and check on them, Lyndsay just finished drawing all over the hallway wall with a pencil and brought me a few bottles of salad dressing from the fridge so they are obviously causing trouble out there and I need to get off of the computer! Have a great weekend - I have more pictures I will post later after cleaning up after the tornado that just passed through the house! Chris

Enjoying the weather!
Having a great time enjoying the great outdoors! We've had a great time this past week, spent the weekend and yesterday out in Millington at our property and back and forth to the horse barn, busy busy busy! Amber is coming home this Friday night YAY! We are going to pick her up Friday night and come home that night as well (thought about staying over there Friday night), but coming home Friday night as well will give us all day Saturday at home with the kids. Erin is soooo excited. Today she found a picture on a keychain of a trip we took to Cedar Point when I was pregnant with her and she comes into the kitchen and tells me she misses Amber so much! How sweet! She's watching Tinkerbell right now while waiting for Curt and Brooke to come home from their Dad's. The chicks and ducks are getting bigger and bigger! The kids like to take the ducks out and let them swim in our little koi pond out front. They love it! We are also waiting for Daddy to get home from working on the front half of Aunt Jenni's roof. This weekend we mowed out at the property, plowed 2 fields and disc'd them as well. The kids and I picked rocks out of the front field - I got them interested in helping by telling Isaac I was finding all kinds of pretty/cool rocks and there were worms under some of them! He and Erin spent the majority of the time flipping rocks over instead of throwing them in the backhoe bucket:) Then, later, we went out to watch daddy plowing and Isaac was traipsing through the freshly turned over dirt, and I saw him picking up worms. I said, where are you keeping all those? In my pocket, he says!!!! YUCK! A pocket full of worms to feed to the fish in the frog pond later. He pats his pocket.... Boys... love them! When we sat down for a bit, he got them all out of his pocket and put them in Erin's outstretched hands to hold and she was giggling and giggling cuz they were wiggling and tickling! So funny!
Well, miss Lyndsay is trying to climb on the computer chair next to me - I just put her down because she was copying me typing by hitting the mouse with all of her fingers and messing me up so if there are any errors in this post, it's all her fault! Almost 2 weeks gone by already!
Wow, time flies when you are having fun! Sunday was a busy day - sang at church in the morning and evening services (morning, the kids all sang with me except Lyndsay well, Erin hid behind me the whole time and flashed whoever was behind me with Pastor by lifting up the skirt of my dress:) she was mad I gave the microphone to Isaac instead of her!). We had a BBQ here after morning service with my mom, Bill, Heather and Brian, Carly and Maggie, Christopher and Amy and their 5 boys, Grandma Reid stayed overnight Saturday after going to the mother/daughter banquet with me Saturday night. I think that was it! So, long but happy day! Monday morning, the realtor called and someone wanted to see the house Tuesday at 6pm. So, I had an appointment Monday morning and ran a few errands while my sister graciously watched Erin and Lyndsay for me:) I went home and mowed the lawn, weed whipped, etc., took care of all the animals and got the chicks ready to move to the red shed when Jeremy came home (he was working on shingling his sister's roof). Tuesday I spent all morning cleaning inbetween helping Erin after puking til around noon. Then I cleaned until 3pm. Picked the kids up from school, went to the barn to meet the farrier and came home at 7pm bushed! So, today the girls and I went to Clio to see if we could be any help to Daddy while he was working on the roof. Not much help, but company anyway. I stopped at Goodwill to pick up some polo shirts for Curt and had good luck for the 10 minutes I had, I found 4 and only cost me 3.97!
The realtor called to give us feedback on the showing. She said the people absolutely loved the house but the bedrooms were too small but if they hadn't been, they would have been putting in an offer:( Oh well, God has someone out there! I just know it!
After feeling a little ill this morning myself, I am going to take it easy for awhile here! God is so good - all the time! I am loving being home with the girls - just being there yesterday for Erin while she was sick was good for both of us! The realtor called to give us feedback on the showing. She said the people absolutely loved the house but the bedrooms were too small but if they hadn't been, they would have been putting in an offer:( Oh well, God has someone out there! I just know it!
After feeling a little ill this morning myself, I am going to take it easy for awhile here! God is so good - all the time! I am loving being home with the girls - just being there yesterday for Erin while she was sick was good for both of us! She cried the first time she threw up but was asking for Daddy who was already gone! I want my daddy, she cried! So we called him and she felt better and fell back asleep for a bit! I think it was mostly sinuses cuz it was all phlegm - yuck! The chicks are getting their feathers and get stinkier by the minute! I am so glad they are in the shed and out of the garage! I scrubbed with pinesol out there yesterday and it smells so much better!

Lyndsay, Erin, Aunt Heather and MaggieMore chicks arrived yesterday - a dozen more! So, the crate is divided into 3 spaces now, bigger chicks, small chicks and 2 ducks! Isaac named one Isaac and Erin named one Erin. Good luck finding the one they named! I stayed home all day yesterday and did laundry, worked on Brooke's clothes in her room. The girl doesn't put a thing away! She tries on 3 outfits, wears a different one and leaves the others on the emtpy bed in her room:( That was a job in itself! Just got laundry caught up, picked up, cleaned the floors under my bed, dusted, etc. We played outside from 10am - noon (I mowed the backyard while the girls played) and when we came in, Lyndsay picked up her blankie and went to her room. I put her in her crib and out she went! So sweet. After school, Jeremy had the lawn mower going and finished the back and we played some more before coming in to eat and then go to church! Today has been kind of lazy, I slept in til 7am, got the kids off to school, then exercised and got ready for the day. Daddy and Erin are relaxing on the couch while Lyndsay is already napping. Peep Peep
Wow, we've been busy already! I will have to post more often because I can't remember what happened 2 days ago without having to really think about it! Must be a part of turning 40 last year or something:) Saturday, I stayed home and reclaimed a clean house while Jeremy went turkey hunting. We also got the push mower going and I mowed a bit out front while the kids played outside. Curt went to the tigers game and was gone til 10pm. Of course, while we were out back playing I let Thunder the beagle loose to run around and eventually he outsmarted me and got on the deck and sailed over the fence. Tried to get him, he wasn't interested and sure enough, about 20 minutes later the phone rang and someone down the road had him. So, we walked down and got him. So, I got lots of exercise Saturday! Christopher, Amy and their 5 boys came over for a cookout also and we had a great time of playing outside, visiting and video games.
Sunday was our anniversary day at church. Attendance of about 10 shy of 400 people praise the Lord! I think Pastor said atleast 17, maybe as many as 25 souls saved. The kids had fun playing on the blow up things after church and free cotton candy and a good meal as well as fellowship! Jennifer, Tiffany and Ashley sang the song "Don't be afraid" and that really touched my heart! Next time you listen to it, really listen to the words! So true! After morning service, went home and mowed some more while Jeremy worked on the riding lawn mower deck and the kids played outside. Beautiful day! Back to church, then home to eat and go to bed!
Monday, we were ready to go early and went to TSC to exchange the mower blades (got the wrong ones:) and ended up bringing home 14 meat chicks and 2 ducklings (Erin was so excited about the ducks and they are cute). They stink so bad already:( I remember the smell well from last years 100 chicks. I don't think it matters how many you have, they smell the same stinky smell no matter how clean you keep the cage! The kids love them, though and they are having fun. Just can't wait til they are old enough to leave the garage! They were half off and that's about what we get them for directly from the hatchery. Ran to my sister's to unload the trailer, then Jeremy went to his sister's with Erin to get roofing materials. I went back home to meet the cable guy who was coming at 1pm. I picked the kids up from school 3pm, practiced a song the kids and I are singing Sunday for Mother's Day (Always a Child), and back home. My dad was in town and stopped by and visited with everyone (Heather, Maggie and Carly came over, too) and we ate dinner. Jeremy and Erin came home about 6:30pm. My dad left around 8 and Jeremy needed to go to Millington to pick up tools for roofing, so he dropped Brooke and I and the girls off at the barn and she rode until he came back to get us.
Today, everyone got baths this morning which is a feat trying to get the hot water to stretch! I got up at 6:30 am and exercised, got the boys up, then Jeremy took the kids to school and went to Jenni's from there. I stayed home and bathed the girls (and myself:) and some laundry before leaving at 11am to try and find a CD with the song the kids and I are singing on Sunday so we could practice at home, but couldn't find it so the girls and I took the kids lunch to school and to Daddy in Clio. We then went to Walmart for groceries and then home to get the kids from school and practice the song again. Then, on to Clio to drop the boys off to help Dad and Brooke and I to the barn with Lyndsay (Erin stayed at Aunt Jenni's, too). Brooke and I came home at around 8pm and are busy doing a few things. stay at home mom for the next 4 weeks!
Hello there - well, today was the last day for the next 4 weeks... We emptied the line of cars and left for home at 1:30pm from work. So, we are now off for 4 weeks, then work the whole month of June now and then have the first 3 weeks of July off. Then hopefully we will be back to work with no more down time. Our plant does build the Pontiac G6's but we also build the Chevy Malibu overflow with Fairfax, MO having the majority build. But, rumor has it that Fairfax just started building a Buick model and we will be running 70% Malibus when we go back in July. So, please be praying that we will not be one of the plants that are closing...
I will enjoy being home - I always do! Erin and Isaac asked me every night the past 2 weeks when was I going to be home again:)
We've been busy at the property but now are waiting for it to dry out again so we can start getting the fields planted this month. I started picking rocks last Saturday but it would start raining and then stop... We had fun staying out in the camper again. Spending more time at the barn with Gentleman as well. Brooke's first lesson went great - she learned some good tips on dealing with Mr. not quite a gentleman when you are on his back. He's doing much better after my father in law's 3 lessons and Brooke's 1 so far! The more he's ridden the better. We went for their clean up day last Saturday morning and helped clean out the corrals and the barn (cobwebs, cleaned bars, etc.). The kids have all had fun there with all the cats and chickens roaming around. Jeremy's been turkey hunting when he can - he had the permit for the only 2 weeks we had to work, doesn't it figure?! He has til Sunday so 2 more days still. During deer season, he sees tons of turkeys up close and during turkey season, he sees turkeys afar and deer almost walk right up to him while he's sitting there!
The kids are anxious for school to be done - they just had their bowlathon on Thursday - the last fundraiser of the year! Lyndsay is starting to talk by screaming! She can't say words yet besides momma and dadda - she will try and say the kids names and will try and call each one when told to. It's cute, she'll also put her hands out and reach, bringing her fingers in and out to ask you to pick her up or to tell you she wants something. She only weighs 19lbs still but loves to eat! Erin was so excited when I was going through school books for next year to see what I had when I pulled out some K4 books and I told her they would be hers for school next year. Now she tells everyone she's going to Isaac's school next year when she's 4! Isaac is tired of school and has been having a hard time concentrating but is still an all A student. He doesn't like to have to sit and do homework right after school anymore when it's nice out! Hang in there buddy, just a few more weeks! Not to mention, his birthday is the Monday after school is done! Curt is going to Homeplate with the youth pastor and our church tomorrow. It's a tigers game and some testimony time with the players that are Christians, etc. He's pretty excited. Brooke is at her dad's and is babysitting tomorrow. She's been busy going to the barn and church stuff. I still have to plan a time to get together with relatives to celebrate her 16th birthday, but everyone has been coming and going and haven't had a date to do it yet! This is our typical week: Monday we plan on going to the barn to ride (25 minutes there and back), Tuesdays Curt and Brooke go to their dad's, Wednesdays are church with Brooke and Curt going soulwinning in between school and church), Thursday is barn night again and my father in law takes his lesson every week and Brooke every other week on Thursday with a pot luck dinner there, Friday - every other Brooke and Curt go to their dad's and the on our weekends we generally go to the property and work and play. Usually a friend is always along. I love having all the kids here and the more the merrier. We need to get a tent so we can house them all there without tripping over everyone! The boys love to sleep in it, but we have to let the girls, too one night to make it fair. Sunday is church day which is busy in itself! In between all the activites, we have to clean house, do laundry, eat supper and get everything ready for the next day when working and give baths before bedtime! Never a dull moment for me! Now that I'm off again, that will be easier hopefully. Amber is counted the days til she comes home and is in hot pursuit of finding employment for the summer. Brooke will babysit for us when I'm working this summer.
Sunday is the big anniversary day at our church, big dinner on the grounds afterwards with stuff for the kids to do (blow up rides, games, etc.). I hope the weather will be nice! I have to make 2 desserts.
The kids and I are supposed to be singing on Mother's Day next week at church. That will be interesting - if you wanna come, it could be very entertaining with Erin up there! I think it's Sunday night! I am excited about it!
I started a new weight loss program last Wednesday and have lost 9 pounds as of today and have reached my next weight goal, now on to the next - maybe I will get my high school days body back again?! I start the exercise part of it now that I'm off work as well! I eat 6 times a day (and am never hungry). I weigh the meat and rice portions out and separate it so all I have to do is reach in the fridge and get it. I can also eat baked potatoes, fruit and lots of green veggies. It was hard the first few days, but it gets easier every day to follow and worth it when the weight starts dropping and my face is thinner and other parts we won't mention here:) My arms are getting smaller and less flappy, too! Telling you this keeps me accountable as well! Just nothing to drink but lots of water, no sugar, salt, or butter. Very low fat and good carbs, I guess! Maybe by the time we go back to work, I'll look so different no one will recognize me! I have cheated a little. Jeremy made cookies last weekend so I had 1, a little portion of ribs on Saturday and a few of Erin's M&M's tonight. I also took 1 small bite of Lyndsay McDonald's hamburger tonight. It's funny, cuz when you cut that stuff out of your diet, it really is a treat to just have a taste and that's enough because I have the desire to keep losing and on track! But, the small taste - who knew it could be so good and delicious!!!
Well, just though I'd update a little for now, but will post more often while I'm off. Tonight and tomorrow I reclaim my clean house! I also plan on decluttering a little bit more and going through clothes. Summer clothes need to be brought out and a good friend gives me her son's hand me downs for Isaac and my sister in law gives me clothes from her sister for the girls which are greatly appreciated. So, I need to organize and see who may need what for the summer! Our lawn needs mowing (when it dries out) and I need to get woodchips for the back landscaping to finish it! The grass is growing under the weed mat and looks like a monster trying to escape!

Happy Easter
Hello there everyone... Busy Busy as always... We spent Wednesday morning at the pediatricians for Lyndsay and Isaac -sinus infections for both so on antibiotics for a week. Isaac also is on Claritin for allergies. He hates that medicine - tastes terrible! Both are feeling better though! Thursday was Brooke's birthday so in the morning, I baked a cake for the school and cupcakes to take to the property for later. Then, Jeremy and I left for Millington and stopped at Diamond C Saddelry and picked up Brooke's present. She wanted a horse for her 16th birthday instead of the big party that Amber had. She got the horse early (last summer) so I wanted her to have something to open... So, we went to the barn and tried everything on Gent to make sure it would be ok. Then worked at the property for a bit before I left Jeremy there to go home and get Isaac. I wrapped Brooke's present, went back to the property to work some more, then picked up Brooke and Curt at 7pm when they were done at their dad's. We went back to Millington (yes, a lot of driving that day:)) and sang Happy birthday and had cupcakes. She opened her present and was surprised to find an English Saddle and Bridle and lunge line. She likes riding English. Luckily, Diamond C had a nice used one for sale:) We went to the barn and she rode for a bit and we got home late for a school night:) (10:30pm), but it was worth it! Jeremy and I and Isaac, Erin and Lyndsay spent Friday night at the property and Saturday all day clearing out the middle field some more. He'd pull one tree out, cut everything off it, we'd burn the brush and stack the wood. Amber is home for the weekend and cuddled with a napping Lyndsay in the lawn chair, watching and trying to avoid the smoke from the fire! I am still sore - I am so pathetically out of shape:) Erin and Isaac played and played and played - it was great! We left and came home to get things ready for Sunday - going to my Dad and Teresa's for Easter church and dinner.
The goal was to be ready and on the road by 8am. Sat. the kids fell asleep on the way home from Millington so I woke them up and gave them baths and we colored eggs before going to bed at 10:30pm. Sunday morning, all I needed to do was get them dressed. They did not want to wake up even though they were excited about going to Grandpa Bohn's! So, we finally got on the road around 8:20am - not bad! We did have to stop and get gas and McD's for breakfast on the way but we made it on time to Dad's - 10am! Went to church with Dad, Teresa, Heather and Brian, Carly and Maggie. Got back to Dad's and visited while Heather enlisted Jeremy to help her hide eggs outside. Heather stuffed over 175 eggs full of candy for the kids and was it ever a hit! They had a great time looking! Lyndsay like throwing the eggs out of her basket! We ate a delicious dinner (Teresa is a great cook!!) and visited some more. Heather and Brian left at 4pm and we left close to 9pm. The candy started kicking in and Isaac and Erin were crazy! Isaac loved playing with their dog, Nikie and tired him out! All 3 kids were sleeping after driving for 10 minutes! Very nice day - gorgeous weather, too!
Today Amber has already gone to the doctor and gotten meds to get over the junk she's got as well. So that means everyone but Jeremy, myself, and Erin have been on antibiotics in the last 10 days:) Only one more week off on this layoff. We didn't get as much done as we'd hoped, but did get a lot done. I sure don't look forward to getting up at 4am again:) I used to be a morning person - up at 7am no matter what but now I find myself having to drag out of bed at that time! Is it because I'm now 40? I had high hopes of losing 5 lbs this week (NOT HAPPENING WITH THE EASTER CANDY AND ALL THE SWEETS:). Atleast I didn't gain any! I just don't have the get up and go I used to!
My old boss, Robert Maul passed away this week from Melanoma - that was sad to hear. I went to the funeral home Wednesday and it was nice to see everyone! God had laid Bob on my heart last year and now I know why - his cancer had come back last summer. I have seen him occasionally over the years and always enjoy our visits. I got a Christmas letter from his sister-in law that had stated his cancer had come back and I was going to see him in January when laid off, but never did. I did stop at his coffee shop a month ago, but didn't see him or his wife. I wish I had been able to visit with him one last time - he was only 55. His brother did assure me that he went to heaven - he said they made sure he was. So, that was reassuring! He was a good man and boss...
Well, I am off to see what the rest of the day brings - Amber is leaving at 4, I have more laundry to do and need to get out of these sweats! Have a great day and I will post some pictures soon. I kept remembering my camera this last week, but forgot the CF card was still in the computer at home. I finally grabbed it for yesterday's activities!

I had high hopes of losing 5 lbs this week (NOT HAPPENING WITH THE EASTER CANDY AND ALL THE SWEETS:). Atleast I didn't gain any! I just don't have the get up and go I used to!
My old boss, Robert Maul passed away this week from Melanoma - that was sad to hear. I went to the funeral home Wednesday and it was nice to see everyone! God had laid Bob on my heart last year and now I know why - his cancer had come back last summer. I have seen him occasionally over the years and always enjoy our visits. I got a Christmas letter from his sister-in law that had stated his cancer had come back and I was going to see him in January when laid off, but never did. I did stop at his coffee shop a month ago, but didn't see him or his wife. I wish I had been able to visit with him one last time - he was only 55. His brother did assure me that he went to heaven - he said they made sure he was. So, that was reassuring! He was a good man and boss...
Well, I am off to see what the rest of the day brings - Amber is leaving at 4, I have more laundry to do and need to get out of these sweats! Have a great day and I will post some pictures soon. I kept remembering my camera this last week, but forgot the CF card was still in the computer at home. I finally grabbed it for yesterday's activities!
As always, I think back to Easter weekend 6 yrs ago... I can remember the days like they just happened and the pain is still there... I am thankful I can see her smile in my girls and some of Lyndsay's facial expressions... are Danielle's, too! The songs we sing at church remind me of the glorious day we will be reunited! Thank God for Jesus dying on the cross for our sins!

Wow - Time sure flies by!
I can't believe it's been so long since I was last able to post! We've been busy as usual! We have been off work since March 30th and our return to work date is April 20th for 2 weeks. Last week was a catch up week and since the weather hasn't been too horrible we've taken advantage of the nice days and gone out to Millington to work on the property. We are cutting down trees/clearing the rest of the middle field to get a true 5 acre corn plot this year! Next is picking rocks out of the front field to get it ready for plowing and hay planting! We spent the night out there Friday night much to Erin's delight! We got lots of rain Friday but stayed in the camper and watched a movie before going to bed. Saturday was a beautiful day and we accomplished quite a bit. I had been waiting for a coggins test result from the vet for our horse before we could move him (standard practice). It took longer than expected but it finally came in the mail Friday so the moving date was Saturday. So, we met the folks at Heather's at 11:45am or so. They were great and came and got him for us. They brought the wrong trailer (little mix up) and he did not want to go in the narrow opening, of course. After about 45 minutes Heather brought his buddy, Star out and she went right in and it still took Gent about 10 minutes to realize she was in there and then he just decided all of a sudden to go right in. We couldn't just lead Star back out cuz it was a 3 horse slant so she went along for the ride and they brought her back afterward. Brooke and Carly stayed at the barn with Gent while we did all of that. When I got back to the barn where Gent's at, he was in a stall very nervous and sweating, watching the horses outside through his stall window, pacing back and forth. We went to the property and helped burn brush and stack wood until dark, ate dinner then went back to the barn to check on him before we went home. The other horses were now in the barn for the night and he was very calm and happy and eating hay.
Today, we stopped in there after church for an hour and he was outside in a paddock by himself (they will gradually introduce him into a "herd") next to other paddocks with horses and seemed pretty content. Brooke brought him into the barn, brushed him and walked him around the indoor arena, then got on him bareback and rode him around for a bit before turning him back out. We then went to Grandpa Steve's to celebrate his birthday and Easter stuff was given to the kids cuz Brooke and Curt won't be here next weekend. Delicious lasagna dinner (my favorite:). Lyndsay has been fussy the past few days and I'm wondering if there are more teeth on the way... Erin has been miss I know everything, you know nothing and don't try and tell me anything girl lately -we are working on it:) Is there a terrible 3's???? Curt and Isaac have been having fun when we go to the property and don't even complain about it and not being able play computer games which is great. I love just watching them out there. Curt actually did some exploring with his cousin Tyler who was visiting from the UP and found a racoon under our boat by the swamp. He must have crawled under there and died not too long ago. Lyndsay and Erin love to play out there as well and everyone sleeps well at night! I put them to bed after they fell asleep on the way home last night at 9pm and I could smell campfires and horses! Needless to say they all got baths before church this morning!
My finger just wasn't getting any better - I kept hitting it on things and it was like starting all over so I finally went to the doctor this week when we were off and they x-rayed it and found a fracture and told me to tape it for 2 weeks and it finally seems to be helping. Someone shook my hand and squeezed it at church this morning and it hurt pretty bad, though... I keep hearing a clicking noise in it - still doesn't feel like it's lined up right for some reason... Oh well, it will probably never be the same again!
Brooke was feeling under the weather tonight and went to bed early! We've had a rough winter of colds, flu and now I think allergies are coming into play as well! Curt was home Thursday(mostly cuz of cousin being here) and Friday for not feeling well and Lyndsay threw up tonight after drinking her milk. Just got off the phone with Amber who things she has the flu right now as well. I just told her she was going to have to take Nyquil and sleep it off. Doctors can't do much of anything for the flu.
My dad and Teresa are officially on there way home from Florida - in Savannah today and tomorrow and then atleast 1 more stop in TN on the way. We are going up there to see them this weekend coming up for Easter. It will be nice having them back in Michigan!
We were going to order chicks while we're off, but decided to wait until later in the summer when we are back to work and hopefully the house will have sold and we can do it in Millington. Didn't think people looking at the house would take to 100 chicks brooding in the garage and the smell that comes a long with it:) They don't smell too bad until about the 4th week when they are getting pretty big and cleaning it once a day doesn't seem to help!
Well, that's a little update for now. I've been bad and haven't gotten the camera out too much lately except last week 2 mornings we caught the deer out in our backyard here (I counted 5 one morning), so I snapped some pictures that day and will got thru them and post some when I have more time. It's late and I'm off to bed - trying to wake up early tomorrow to exercise before the kids go to school instead of after taking them to school.
So, if I made lots of mistakes in here that I didn't catch, forgive me, it's hard typing with a taped up finger:) Have a great Monday!
